Slate Rock Safety, LLC, of Medina, OH, has joined ASTM International: formerly the American Society for Testing and Materials, now ASTM International. ASTM International focuses on many industries, and Slate Rock Safety (SRS) participates specifically in the F18.65 sub-committee: Wearing Apparel. This sub-committee is a subset of the larger committee F18: Electrical Protective Equipment for Workers.
Slate Rock Safety specializes in flame resistant clothing and arc-rated personal protective equipment, which is tested and specified per multiple ASTM test methods and specifications. These test methods provide information about the test procedures and the specifications define the parameters necessary to label a garment as flame resistant and/or arc-rated.
Heidi Sweeney, president of Slate Rock Safety, participated in the most recent F18.65 sub-committee meeting. She states, "The contribution of time and effort in the creation and evolution of these ever-evolving procedures and requirements ensures that Slate Rock Safety is active and aware of the latest changes in relevant policies. This activity allows us to be on the forefront of knowledge and provide this knowledge to our entire customer base."
Slate Rock Safety, LLC, is the parent company of FRSafety.com, FRSafetyCloseouts.com and WomensFRClothing.com. Each company division serves its customer base with a high level of knowledge about the clothing and the standards and regulations as relevant. Outstanding customer service and a wide variety of the best manufacturers and garments available provide customers with a top-notch personalized experience when purchasing online, over the phone or via a managed care clothing program.
