Jim Norton has been in the Machine Safety business for over 25 years. As the past president of AHTD (the Association for High Technology Distribution) and the chairman of the Task Force on their National Alliance with OSHA, Jim has led the way in establishing a training program on the technologies available for machine guarding for the folks at DOL in Washington DC, and for the Federal and State OSHA folks around the country. In addition he is on the editorial advisory board for the safety and health topic pages on Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, and Robotics.
In the Industrial control industry Jim has been President of EMD Optima, a Automation Solution Provider in New England with revenues in excess of $5Million annually and as Vice President of Gibson Engineering Company, a New England based company with revenues in the $20 Million range, He is currently the founding member and President of JHN Group a consulting firm specializing in the development of distribution channels for industrial automation products and machine safety consulting.
