Arc Ear Plugs feature:

Arc Plugs allow workers to hear conversations, signals and other critical sounds clearly - without impairment. If an arc flash occurs, the calibrated noise filter activates immediately to suppress the noise to a safer level, without delay, reducing the chance of hearing damage and concussive disorientation.

Features a nonlinear acoustical design with a calibrated filter within the plug stem.

With double-end versatility, workers just have to insert the plug's red end for protection against extended exposures to continuous hazardous noises.

These are a great product, having the option to have sound come through or not, but yet have the arc protection on either side is great. I wish had found these sooner for my guys, and they are priced very well..all and all very happy customer.

I am quite pleased with the Arc Rated hearing protection I purchased for our employees. I serve on NFPA 70E Committee on Electrical Safety in the Workplace and have always be concerned about the melting of standard hearing protection in the event of an Arc Blast. What a great concept. Hearing clearly has always been a problem with regular ear protection. This solves three problems. Hearing Proper regular protection The extra protection of the extreme noise potential in an arc event.

My crews were not wearing hearing protection alot. Concern is hearing protection during electrical work using a foam style plug, that in a flash event the foam plug would contribute to the extent of injuries. The ARC ear plugs allow conversation but do help protect and will not burn. Usually a line mechanic just prior to taking an action that could produce an arc flash will turn head to one side or the other (limit facial burns to one side) exposing the ear to the potential arc flash. This product will give them confidence to wear ear protection when needed.
