An All Season jacket may have durable outer shell, such as duck or canvas to provide a long wear life for the garments.

The lining of the jacket is often a lightweight twill. This allows the user to wear the jacket over layers for warmth, or wear the all season jacket alone for lightweight protection. This term is used by Carhartt to describe their twill-lined flame resistant jackets.
