Texas Gas and Oil protective clothingMeet OSHA's Flash Fire and Flame Resistant Requirements

When selecting personal protective clothing (PPE) for the oil and gas workforce, look for flame resistant, flash fire clothing. FRC's that are compliant to NFPA 2112 are both flame resistant and acceptable for flash fire exposure. When clothes are compliant to NFPA 2112, it means that the garments are flame resistant (or FR) and will provide protection in the event of a flash fire. If someone wearing clothing compliant to NFPA 2112 is exposed to an accidental flash fire, the clothing will not keep burning or melt, and will not contribute to the injury.
